AB 104 allows for students who did not demonstrate satisfactory academic progress during the 2020-2021 school year to seek various supports.  If you would like to request support as listed below, please complete the AB 104 Retention Request Form and submit it to your child's school.

    • A local educational agency, upon receiving a written request from the parent of a pupil who received deficient grades for at least one-half of the pupil’s coursework in the 2020–21 academic year to retain the pupil for the 2021–22 school year, shall offer the parent a consultation with the parent, the pupil, the administrator, and a teacher. This consultation will take place within 30 days of receiving the request.  Please understand that a consultation meeting to discuss retention will not guarantee that your student will be retained.
