  • About Blue Oak Elementary School 

    Blue Oak Elementary, home of the Bulldogs, is a TK-5th grade school located in Cameron Park, California. Blue Oak was built in 1989 and currently serves approximately 480 students from surrounding neighborhoods. Our school has a longstanding reputation for being student-centered, family-oriented, and academically excellent. It doesn’t take long to feel and enjoy the positive climate and family atmosphere on our campus.

    Blue Oak Elementary has one focus; our students! We pride ourselves on the development of the whole child and acknowledge that all students have different strengths. Knowing that students are more successful when they feel connected to the school, we have selected programs to ensure that students are able to learn in ways that interest them. Our core reading and math programs are instructed in a variety of ways to ensure that students are provided with the appropriate support and opportunities to learn at their level. 

    Our PTA sponsors enriching art (Meet the Masters) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs in which all of our Bulldogs participate. During STEM lessons students work in groups to create and collaboratively problem solve. 

    Supporting the social-emotional and behavioral growth of students is a top priority. To support students in these areas we have a full time counselor on staff and have implemented the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) model. 

    At our school, students in grades four and five can participate in the instrumental band program, basketball teams, and leadership opportunities around campus. For example, you may see our Grand Greeters waving cars on at drop off and pick up and greeting students at that time. Our younger students enjoy seeing our older students in these activities and roles and look forward to participating in them as 4th and 5th graders. 

    Committed staff, loyal parents, and involved community members work as a team to ensure maximum student success and growth. Our PTA works closely with our community to plan and coordinate fun family events that help to enrich our school culture.
