District/School Transfers

INTER-District Transfers are for incoming/outgoing students between DISTRICTS. Please contact the District for more information.
INTRA-District Transfers are for incoming/outgoing students between BUCKEYE UNION SCHOOLS. Please contact your homeschool (school of residency) for more information.

Interdistrict Transfers
New Interdistrict Transfer request forms will be accepted between February 7, 2022, through March 31, 2022, for consideration for the 2022-2023 school year. New 2022-2023 Interdistrict Transfer requests will not be reviewed until May 13, 2022.
Situation:
- I live within Buckeye USD boundaries, but want to transfer my student to a school district other than Buckeye USD. Complete an Interdistrict Transfer Application Form - El Dorado County School Districts and send form to Buckeye Union School District, attn: Kellee Sellwood ksellwood@buckeyeusd.org or fax (916) 934-0920. Upon release, your form will be sent to the requesting district.
- I live within El Dorado County boundaries (not within Buckeye USD boundaries), but want to transfer my student to Buckeye USD. Complete an Interdistrict Transfer Application Form - El Dorado County School Districts and submit to your DISTRICT OFFICE of residency for release. Upon release, your form will be sent to Buckeye USD.
- I live outside of El Dorado County boundaries, but want to transfer my student to a school in El Dorado County (including Buckeye USD). Complete an Interdistrict Transfer Form from your HOME SCHOOL DISTRICT (inquire with your home school district for form) and submit to your HOME DISTRICT OFFICE for release. Upon release, your form will be sent to Buckeye USD.
Please note:
- Any student attending in El Dorado County on a currently approved Interdistrict Transfer Agreement will automatically be registered for the following school year at the same school (no need to reapply - policy effective 2020/2021), unless the:
- Student has a change in school (including elementary to middle school)
- Student has moved to a different releasing District. A new release will need to be obtained from the new school District.
- School site is notified of the student’s withdrawal.
- Annual Verification of Employment - After the initial approval of the Application for Interdistrict Attendance and submission of an employer letter to your resident district, parents/guardians are not required to submit an Interdistrict Transfer Agreement annually. Parents/guardians are only required to provide the Annual Verification of Employment form and proof of current employment/employer letter to the district in which they are employed and desire their child(ren) to attend. Please submit by MARCH 31.
- Rolling Hills Middle School is not accepting Interdistrict Transfers currently due to the school being impacted.
- For those that live outside the Buckeye Union boundaries and are interested in enrolling at one of our charter schools (Valley View Charter Montessori School or Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter School) do not apply for an Interdistrict transfer. Please inquire with the school for registration and other related information.
- Buckeye Union School District is TK-8th grade. If you are interested in a transfer for 9th-12th grade, please contact the El Dorado Union High School District.

Intradistrict Transfers
Intradistrict Transfer forms will be accepted between January 18, 2022, through February 28, 2022, for consideration for the 2022-2023 school year.
Situation:
- I live within Buckeye USD boundaries, but want to transfer my student to a different Buckeye USD school than designated by my residence. Complete an Intradistrict Transfer Form and submit to your designated home school of residence or the child's current BUSD school.
Please note:
- If your student is already attending a school on an Intradistrict Transfer (a move from the student’s assigned school to another school within our district) and they wish to remain at that school, they do not need to renew their Intradistrict agreement. We will assume the student will be returning to the same school for the following school year.
- Rolling Hills Middle School is not accepting Intradistrict Transfers currently due to the school being impacted.
