High School Placement

OAK RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL’S CRITERIA FOR PLACEMENT IN BIOLOGY AND/OR ADVANCED ENGLISH 1 IN 9TH GRADE

Please see their criteria below: 

Biology:          

• Must have an “A” in Physical Science for all 3 trimesters of the 8^th grade
• Must have Science teacher’s recommendation
• Must be recommended to be enrolled in Geometry for the 9^th grade or must have taken Geometry in the 8^th grade
• Must have an "A" or "B" in Language Arts for all 3 trimesters fo the 8th grade 

Advanced English 1:

• Must have A’s in Language Arts for all 3 trimesters of the 8th grade
• Must have scores of Advanced on all 3 trimester Language Arts Standards in the 8th grade
• Must have scores of Advanced on all 3 trimester Writing Assessments in the 8th grade
