• Students who are going to be out of school for a minimum of 5 but not more than 20 consecutive school days for reasons other than illness are eligible for an independent study contract. Independent Study requires a contract signed by the parent, student, teacher and administrator and must be requested more than five school days prior to a planned absence so that teachers can prepare materials for the student.   Independent Study Contract forms are available in the school office.  The completed contract work must be turned in to your student's teacher on the first day your child returns from the absence. An Independent Study Contract will not be issued for the first eight days of the beginning of the school year nor the last three weeks of the school year. The student is responsible for the completion of the Independent Study Contract. The contract, along with the work, must be returned to the school office on the due date or the day the student returns to school. Failure to complete the school work assigned in the Independent Study Contract will result in the student receiving no credit for the work assigned and the absent days marked as unexcused absences.
